Rugao Meteorological Observatory issues orange warning for heavy fog

At 20:41 on January 16, 2026, the Rugao Meteorological Observatory issued an orange warning signal for heavy fog: it is expected that most towns (districts, streets) in our city will experience strong fog with visibility less than 200 meters and locally less than 50 meters of extremely strong fog from tonight to early tomorrow morning. The heavy fog is expected to dissipate around 05:00 tomorrow morning. The Municipal Emergency Management Bureau and the Municipal Meteorological Bureau jointly remind people to pay attention to prevention.
Description
Fog with a visibility of less than 200 meters may appear within 6 hours, or fog with a visibility of less than 200 meters and greater than or equal to 50 meters may have appeared and will continue.
Guidelines
1. Relevant departments and units should do anti-fog work according to their responsibilities;
2. Airports, highways, ferry terminals and other units strengthen dispatching and command;
3. Drivers must strictly control the traveling speed of vehicles and ships;
4. Reduce outdoor activities.
