Xinyang Meteorological Observatory issues a red warning for heavy fog

At 03:50 on December 18, 2025, the Xinyang Meteorological Observatory upgraded and issued a red warning signal for heavy fog: it is expected that within the next 6 hours, there will be fog with visibility less than 50 meters in the towns and streets under the jurisdiction of Shihe District, Pingqiao District, and Yangshan New District in our city. Please take precautions.

Description

Fog with a visibility of less than 50 meters may appear within 2 hours, or fog with a visibility of less than 50 meters has appeared and will continue.

Guidelines

1. Relevant departments and units do well in anti-fog emergency work according to their duties;

2. Relevant units shall take timely traffic safety control measures in accordance with industry regulations, such as the suspension of aircraft take-off and landing at the airport, the temporary closure of expressways, and the temporary suspension of ferry services;

3. In accordance with the fog driving regulations, the driver shall adopt foggy preventive measures, adopt reasonable driving methods according to environmental conditions, and find safe parking areas as soon as possible;

4. Do not engage in outdoor activities.
