Avalanche conditions this weekend will be more dangerous over more of Colorado than previous weekends. *WHERE...Portions of the Front Range, Summit County, the Gore Range and Vail area, Elk Mountains, Grand Mesa, Monarch, most of the San Juan Mountains, and the Sangre de Cristo Range. *WHEN...Through Sunday evening *IMPACTS...Backcountry travelers can easily trigger large avalanches in the mentioned areas. Some avalanches may be triggered remotely. *PRECAUTION/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Consider these abnormal conditions in your travel plans and choose a route that avoids snow-covered avalanche terrain.
