Conditions remain favourable for the development of snow squalls.Locations: western Newfoundland.Total snowfall: potentially 10 to 20 cm in snow squalls.Maximum wind gusts: 60 km/h.Time span: today.Remarks: A cold west to northwesterly flow of Arctic air will maintain favourable conditions for the development of snow squalls. Strong winds and cold temperatures will combine with the squalls to cause poor visibility in blowing snow.Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow and blowing snow within just a few kilometres are common.###Travel may be hazardous.Snow squall watches are issued when localized, intense snowfall causing rapid accumulation and/or reduced visibility is possible. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
