Suqian Meteorological Observatory issues yellow typhoon warning

At 11:39 on July 12, 2026, the Suqian Meteorological Observatory continued to issue a yellow typhoon warning signal: affected by the 9th typhoon of this year, "Bawei", it is expected that from noon today to the 14th, townships (towns, streets) in Sucheng District, Suyu District, Hubin New District, Economic Development Zone, Yanghe New District, Susu Industrial Park, Shuyang County, Siyang County, and Sihong County will experience gusts of wind above level 8, with the maximum gusts on the river and lake surface this afternoon reaching level 9 to 10. There will be heavy rainfall from late tonight to tomorrow, accompanied by strong convective weather such as lightning, thunderstorms, strong winds, and short-term heavy precipitation. The Municipal Emergency Management Bureau (Disaster Reduction Office), Water Resources Bureau, and Meteorological Bureau jointly remind to take preventive measures.

Description

Within 24 hours may be or has been affected by tropical cyclones, coastal or land average wind force is 8 or more, or gust can reach 10 or more and may persist.

Guidelines

1. The government and relevant departments shall make emergency preparations for typhoon prevention in accordance with their duties;

2. Stop large-scale indoor and outdoor gatherings and high-altitude outdoor dangerous operations;

3. Water operations in relevant waters and passing ships take active countermeasures to reinforce port facilities to prevent ships from anchoring, grounding and collision;

4. Reinforce or dismantle structures that are easy to be blown by the wind, and personnel should not go out at will, to ensure that the elderly and children stay in the safest place in the home, and those in dangerous houses should be transferred in time.
