Dongyang Meteorological Observatory issues low temperature orange warning

At 3:30 pm on January 2, 2026, the Dongyang Meteorological Observatory issued an orange low temperature warning signal: Due to the combined effects of cold air and nighttime radiation cooling, it is expected that the lowest temperature in towns such as Hulu, Weishan, Zuocun, Sandan, Qianxiang, and Mazhai in our city will drop below -5 ℃ tonight and tomorrow morning, with severe freezing. Please be aware of the adverse effects of low temperature and freezing weather on agriculture, water supply, energy security, and road transportation.

Description

Within 24 hours, the minimum temperature will drop below -5°C, or the minimum temperature has dropped below -5°C and will continue, which may or has caused serious impacts on agriculture, forestry, fishery and other production and residents' lives.

Guidelines

1. The government and relevant departments shall make preparations for low temperature defense in accordance with their duties;

2. Prepare crops and trees to prevent freezing damage and livestock and poultry; agricultural and other production enterprises and farmers pay attention to the control of the temperature in the greenhouse to prevent economic crops such as vegetables and flowers from suffering from freezing damage;

3. Users of coal-fired heating should pay attention to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning;

4. Those who work outdoors for a long time should take necessary protective measures;

5. Individuals should pay attention to strengthening cold and warm measures when going out.
