Interior this weekend. These winds will strengthen later this afternoon and are expected to peak by Sunday morning. Winds will then ease slightly before an incoming cold front brings a strong push of southwesterly winds, with gusts potentially reaching 90 km/h starting early Sunday afternoon for western regions. These gusty winds are expected to ease by Sunday evening.Local utility outages are possible. Damaging winds are expected.What:A strong sudden push of southwest wind with gusts ranging from 80-100 km/h. Localized gusts of 100-120 km/h are possible.When:Tonight for the Central Interior. Overnight for the Peace District.Where:- Lakes District- Stuart-Nechako- Prince George- North Cariboo- Williston (Including Pine Pass)- McGregor- Peace DistrictAdditional information:A very strong low pressure system will trek across the B.C interior this evening. As the low passes across the region, a very strong push of wind is expected to follow the low, which will produce a sudden shift of wind direction and gusts of up to 100 km/h. This push of wind will first impact the Lakes District, including Ootsa Lake and Burns Lake, late this afternoon and will continue eastwards towards Stuart-Nechako, Prince George, Mackenzie, and the McGregor region respectively throughout the evening. The strong wind push should reach the Peace District just after midnight. Winds should ease within a few hours of the strong push occurring, and moderate winds will continue this afternoon before the push arrives.###Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible.Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
