Rain, at times heavy, is expected.What: 40 to 70 mm of rain.When: Late this afternoon through early Friday morning.Where: Howe Sound and East Vancouver Island near Bowser and North Courtenay.Remarks:A strong frontal system will move across the South Coast region from this afternoon through tonight. Moderate to heavy rain is expected over Howe Sound and East Vancouver Island tonight. In the wake of the front, the rain will taper to a few showers early Friday morning. Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.What: Strong winds, especially over exposed coastal locations.When: Late this morning through this evening.Where: Exposed coastal areas of the Sunshine Coast and East Vancouver Island north of Fanny Bay.Remarks:A strong frontal system will move across the South Coast region today. Winds will increase to southeast 70 gusting to 90 km/h in exposed areas near the Strait of Georgia late this morning and persist through the evening. Winds will ease overnight as the front moves inland.###Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage.
