Winter storm expected to begin the new year.What: Snowfall amounts of 25 to 40 centimetres, strong winds and blowing snow.When: Overnight tonight and Friday.Where: Matane and Sainte-Anne-des-Monts.Additional information:Another rapidly intensifying winter storm will gradually affect the Gaspé Peninsula today. It will be accompanied by strong winds and blowing snow, which will significantly reduce visibilities.Heaviest snowfall accumulations will occur overnight into Friday morning. Thereafter, westerly winds reaching up to 80 kilometres per hour will develop and could continue until Saturday morning.###Roads and walkways will likely be very difficult to navigate.Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
